Joan of Arc Goes on Trial (1431)
Joan of Arc, who from the age of 12 was visited by visions of saints
and angels, convinced King Charles VII to drive the English out of
France. The King gave her authority over the army in a number of engagements
when she was a mere 17 years of age. When Joan was ultimately captured
