Vladimir Lenin Dies (1924)
Born in 1870, V.I. Lenin was a Russian revolutionary, leader of the
Bolshevik party, and the first premier of the Soviet Union. Trained
as a lawyer, he turned his attention to Marxism in the 1890s, later
adapting it to form his own theory, "Leninism." By 1921,
after years of intense struggle, he and his party had successfully
gained control of Russia. After a series of strokes, Lenin died on
January 21, 1924, but the direct cause of his death is disputed. More...
